A Peninsula in Balance

A Peninsula in Balance
Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Private Day Tour from Reykjavík
This private journey explores the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often described as “Iceland in miniature” because of the wide variety of landscapes found within a relatively small region.
Travel north from Reykjavík toward the glacier-covered Snæfellsjökull volcano, which rises above lava fields, cliffs, and fishing villages along the Atlantic coast.
The route includes the iconic Kirkjufell mountain and nearby waterfalls, one of the most photographed landscapes in Iceland.
Along the western coast, stops often include Djúpalónssandur black pebble beach and the coastal cliffs near Arnarstapi, where walking paths follow dramatic basalt formations and seabird cliffs.
A lunch stop is usually made in one of the small fishing villages along the peninsula before returning to Reykjavík.
