Payment & Cancellation

Payment Methods

Payments are accepted by Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

For bookings made at least 30 days before the travel date, bank transfer may be accepted upon request. If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please select “Bank Transfer” during the booking process. We will contact you with payment instructions.

Payment Schedule

Bookings are confirmed once the required payment has been received. Payments are processed via our secure online payment system unless otherwise agreed in writing

Cancellation charges are calculated as a percentage of the total booking price, based on the notice period prior to the tour start date.  Cancellation charges apply per booking and cover non-refundable planning, reservations, and supplier costs.

Late or Failed Payments

If full payment is not received by the agreed deadline, Ítak ehf. reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and withdraw confirmation of services. Cancellation charges may apply in accordance with the table below.

Cancellation Terms & Charges

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@thisland.is by the person who made the original booking.

For the purposes of these terms, the “tour start date” is the date on which the booked services commence in Iceland (as stated in your booking confirmation).

​

Cancellation charges are calculated as a percentage of the total booking price, based on the notice period prior to the tour start date.

Where third-party suppliers are involved (for example accommodation providers or activity operators), their cancellation terms may apply. If such terms differ, the stricter policy will apply where permitted by applicable law and will be communicated in your booking confirmation.

Changes to Bookings

All booking change requests must be made via email by the person who submitted the original booking request. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but this may not always be possible. All changes are subject to availability.

Depending on how far in advance services have been booked and when changes are requested, an administrative fee of up to 50,000 ISK may be charged to cover planning and handling costs. Additional supplier costs may still apply and will be communicated before changes are confirmed.

Requests for changes made close to departure may, where applicable, be treated as a cancellation and rebooking under these terms.

Force Majeure & Safety

Ítak ehf. reserves the right to modify itineraries or cancel tours due to weather conditions, road closures, safety concerns, or events beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, reasonable alternatives will be offered where possible. If no suitable alternative is available, refunds for affected services will be issued in accordance with applicable law and the Terms & Conditions.

Travel Insurance

Guests are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel insurance to cover unforeseen changes or cancellations, medical expenses, and other risks related to travel.
