Where the River Falls
Háifoss & Golden Circle
Private Day Tour from Reykjavík
This private journey combines the landscapes of Iceland’s interior highland edge with some of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks.
Travel east from Reykjavík through the countryside of South Iceland toward Háifoss, one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls. Falling dramatically into a wide canyon carved by the river Fossá, the area offers expansive views, volcanic landscapes, and a quieter atmosphere away from the more traveled routes.
From the highland edge, the journey continues into the Golden Circle region. Visit Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial water cuts through ancient rock formations, before continuing to the Geysir geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts regularly from the earth.
The tour also includes a visit to Þingvellir National Park, where Iceland’s tectonic plates meet in an open rift valley rich in both geological and historical significance.
The day concludes with a relaxed return to Reykjavík in the evening.
